Archive — Mirror Pavilion

ARCHIVE is an temporary camouflage pavilion designed by Lada Hršak and Danielle Huls for the experimental competition 'Atelier Malkovich'. Initiated by the Nieuwe Meer artist's collective by Nikisch / Schneider with the photographer Thomas Lenden who took the visuals.
The pavilion is embedded in, and reflecting it's surrounding. Conceived as the working place for the contemporary artist, it accommodates the space for storing and refreshing memory: a hard drive for the creative individual. Referring to both digital and analogue intelligence, the edged round plan with ‘endless’ archives circumscribes the intimate inner courtyard with a tree. The circular plan allows countless movements, along cupboard niches for storing information, and hidden pull out table for the patio. Reflective mirror covers the outer skin and soft, recycled second hand materials on the inner side. The courtyard is a place for concentration, grouting, or reshuffling the thoughts with dinner guests.
